Good Day boaters everywhere ! Long time reader first time posting! Iam working on a 1962 (i believe) Starcraft 18ft Holiday, paint is stripped, deck out,old foam out,new deck cut and dry fitted! My timing is off though I want to remove the plywood from the transom while the weather is good and will not reinstall the new plywood until I get the boat indoors, but in the mean time I am in line to have some welding done on the boat and half to trailer it. Has anyone moved a bigger aluminum boat around while the wood is out of the transom? Could this cause a problem or am I over thinking this..........

Move it around on the trailer? I can't see a problem with this.

Welcome to iboats and a SC owner..the glass guys are waaaaaay outnumbered and we grow daily.

I see nothing wrong with towing it with the wood out.
It is an I/0? OB?

Either way if the wood is out the motor (if OB) is not adding any weight and the outdrive (if inboard) has to be off as well..

Strap her down with the stern eyes and get it.

What are you having welded?
