1962 Evinrude head bolt torque

I found specs for a 15 hp that had the torque to be 96-120 in. lbs. or 8- 10 ft. lbs. Would it be the same for an 18 hp?

18hp is 120-125 inch pounds. (10-10 1/2 foot pounds) Use the inch pounds unless you have a mighty good foot pound wrench. It's very unlikely that it will be able to get it within 1/2 pound. Miss it by a couple of pounds and you are way off spec.

Start with half the recommended value for a round, then do the full torque value. The pattern is also very important.
