I'm new also. Just purchased a 1961 Magnolia with a 1957 Evinrude 35hp big twin and trailer all for $400. All appears to be in good shape; although the upholstery and it's wood framing need to be replaced. The fiberglass itself seems good. Motor starts right up but was advised that since it's been in storage for 3 years that I should have the impeller replaced prior to taking it out. Any advise. Also where can I pick a windshield cheap and maybe a bimini top?

Re: 1961 magnolia runabout

Finding an original plexi windshield will be very difficult. However, with that fairly flat top deck, you may be able to easily adapt a standard three-piece shield from an old tri-hull or something. That's what I was able to do for my 60's runabout.

I got my bimini top from here: http://www.safeguardcovers.com/ (check their ebay store also)
