I just bought a 61 johnson 10 hp. I finally got it out on the water last night and had lots of problems with it. once i got it running it would idle fine in nuetral, it even trolled down nice! but the minute i opened it up it would bogg down then get back up and bogg down again.. it didnt sputter like if i was running it to rich or lean. It almost seemed like it was getting fuel cause a few times at full throttle it would just shut off! any suggestions would be great! thanks in advance!

Try pulling the choke and see if it runs better. If so, the carb isn't delivering enough fuel. Cleaning may be required to clear a blocked orifice.

agree with above, but check your spark and compression, before spending any money on parts. Read the TOP SECRET FILE, top of this forum. most of your questions are answered there.
