newbie here hi everyone
well i bought this boat motor and trailer for $500 and i need some help with the motor i was told by the prev. owner that 1 coil was bad so i took and bought both right away, well i put it all together just the coils are new other than a new carb kit, anyway i gapped the points to proper spec.but i get no spark on either plug does the varnish on the coil(the plates) have to be takin of for proper spark? is it pretty fussy whem you slide the plug wire into the coil? my motor is a qd-22 the wire looks to be the original but i was told by a johnson dealer i did not need to replace and i cut part of it off to give me a fresh end any details anyone can give would help photos are nice to step by step please and thanks i would really appreciate any help
