Now hear this: :)

Hi Fellows,

I will join the team with my own project, I could use your advice as I go along so feel free to chime in at anytime. So, I got this 1960'ish SeaKing for next to nothing, the first pic show her poor state. I started stripping everything I could to get to the naked hull, then I started to get rid of layers of old paint, I used angle grinder with the steel brush that was a tad too much since I started striping pieces of aluminum as well, so I switched to cup wire brush on the drill. Here is my first question:
Some of the areas cleaned with almost no effort to the bare aluminum, some of the other areas seems almost in-penetrable, so I ended up with spots that are super clean and areas that are not so clean but it seems like the rest of the paint will simply not come off. Is it OK to primer this thing as is or should I spend another month cleaning this thing really really well to the bare aluminum? Take a look at the pics and let me know.
Thank You shipmates....:)

Re: 1960'ish SeaKing Restoration Project

Now, this thing has no gunwales whatsoever, any idea how to "improvise" one? I was thinking L shape angle brackets of both sides of the wall and then something on top of it....do you know any place that actually sells gunwales?

Thanks
