Is the upper crankshaft seal in there ??

It is. Was covered in silicone. Looks like it'll need a new one.
Was difficult to get good pictures.

Does the seal sit in the roller bearing? Whatever the seal is sitting in, it appears to be cracked around the edges.

As indicated in post #18 , a less than experienced individual has been into this motor.----Yes the bearing is cracked.-----I have lots of these as parts motors.-----I would not hesitate to take this motor apart for complete inspection / block replacement.!!!
