My Dad had one of these motors and it was
Stolen out of his garage. Dad passed away and I would like to find another one of these
To put on my Jon boat. I retired to Florida
And we have a big lake behind our RV park
And it’s loaded with Bass and Crappie.

Okay, what would you like for us to do?

If you find one we will help you fix it.

You will probably need to search outside of Florida but there's plenty of them around my place.

first thing is to look at on line sites like Craiglist EBAY etc... visit boat shops..(some accomodate clients wishing to sell stuff) try to stick with freshwater engines around here they go from $100-200 CDN $ check compression before you buy and it turns over. a run test is nice.

this one a 6r76 is going for $100 cdn ($75US) with some starter work needed

plan to spend some $$$ for 2 coils impeller 2 condensers 2 points plug wire and if you plan to work on it this book always helps (depending on your skill level)

this one is pricy in paper version but a good friend to have Kindle is just $9.99

The 61 model is better with needle bearings on rod journals.-----I pick these motors up ( 5.5 / 6 HP ) and usually make no attempt to start them.----They come apart for inspection / repairs as needed.

Where are you that I could find one ? I was looking all over eBay and found one. I know they are a good little engine, we took our boat to Canada and did a lot of fishing there
With it.

if the carb float is ok the carb may just need a good cleaning.. points can sometimes just be polished (burnished & acetone washed ) and still work fine ... even better than newer points manufactured out of specs !! stick with OEM stuff. some chinesse kits have been known to have "melting gaskets" bad points and needle seats that don't fit. with $100-150 a decent oldy will still run for another 20 years or more
see 1966 9.5 $50 !! or an older CD 5.5hp ($100 cdn)

Trailer parks used to be a great place to find stuff. Look for the main office or community area and you may find some posting or ask around.
