So I've been looking around the forum for some time now, looking at different restores and whatnot, and figured I should post some pictures. It?s a 1960 Starcraft Viscount, with a '63 Merc 650.
My father purchased the boat probably 15+ years ago for little to nothing. It originally had two bench seats in it but after a year or two we removed them and put in the floor with pedestal seats. Around 6 years ago, the boat went under during a big storm. It was a good 3/4 underwater, but beached. Well we got it out and it has sat ever since.
I later purchased it from my father a few years ago, but I'm just now getting around to trying to get her working again. I tried a year or so ago, but couldn't get it to start. I couldn't even get power to the motor. After buying a new wiring harness, and rebuilding a MerControl box, she actually started the other day!
Now for the rebuild. I've pulled the windshield, all hardware and started sanding. I've also pulled the old carpet. I'll try to post more pictures along the way.
