Clay, I know (and understand) the fishing bug done bit you, but in my opinion you would love a better steering system. I have had both, and the cable system cant hold a candle to the newer system. Have you tried any boat junk yards around you? You would be surprised as you may be able to pick up everything for less that 50 bucks. Good luck fishing, Dale

I 100% agree. My last boat had a pulley system and it was always binding and hard to steer. forget having to remove the motor and it still working right. my starcraft has a single cable system and is 8 billion times better.

My Jupiter also have the cable and pulley system. I didn't have any binding issues with it like Andy did but when did drive me crazy was the RATTLING. Dear god all that apparatus sure loved to rattle!
