1959 glasspar seafair sedan

hello out there - i just joined iboats and it seems very interesting - i just purchased a 1959 glasspar seafair sedan today in fair shape - my plan is to redo it totally

any advice on how to redo the outside hull and topside - my thoughts were cleaning the outside and putting new gel-coat on it

topside i was going to use an interlux "toplac" - can anyone tell me if these are diffficult products to use for a novice ???

I persoanally like the two part epoxy paints for an old boat, it's self leveling, fills in cracks and looks like it was sprayed on when you use a brush or roller. I just got a 62 Glasspar Seafair Sunliner with a Volvo aq100 sterndrive that I'm getting ready to restore. Luckily all the trim and glass is intact you can get two part epoxy in MANY colors...check it out!
