1959 fat fifty

Hello everyone out there in the boating world, was wondering on my fat fifty if i can put reed valves from a 75 hp read that it was possible and would save on fuel consumpution. Question has anyone done this, and if so how did it run.

Not sure, never tried it. You could look up the parts and see if they are the same.

seloc manaul says u can just have to round off edges to make it fit just wasnt too sure

It won't save on any fuel and if the mtr is running good just "leave a sleeping dog lie". All of the "fat fours" were gas hogs.
