1959 35hp Evinrude lark solenoid

Taking a closer look at the picture in post #8, I think I see the problem. The wire is burned off the little post on one of the mercury switches, right?
Hard to tell really. I'll have to check that out. They are the original so it's possible that they went bad.

Cleaning the grease off and the solder point looks great. No burning or anything. I tried to test continuity from the post to the solder point but didn't register. It's possible the wire is bad in between the switch I suppose. Only way to test it that I can see is to cut the wire then repair it.

So after further testing,it's not the mercury switch. It's the wire inside the main cable from the box to the side of the engine. This isn't going to be fun assuming I redo the entire cable. I could always bypass the cable for that one connection. Or try to make a new one.
