Hello everyone,
I just recently got my moter and got it running only to find out there was no water output from the back of the moter. The water pump is shot and all of the fins fell off when attempting to disassemble the lower unit. The bottom part of the lower unit comes off but the middle piece is still locked in place. There is a about a 2 inch gap but this middle piece appears to be hung up on the shift shaft or the main shaft of the engine. I see no other nuts to remove to loosen anything up. Any advice would be appreciated.

This is how far it comes apart. The shift cable is not connected now but the middle plate is still stuck on the main shaft from the engine

See if you can find a cable to disconnect on this motor.
Thank you I bought the repair manual on pdf format and figured the cable out and can now replace my impeller. Never worked on anything like this before... Wow
