1958 Evinrude Fastwin Electric Start?

Hi Folks!

We have a 1958 Evinrude Fastwin, 18 hp, with pull start. Anyone know if it is feasible to convert it to electric start?

It is feasible if you can find all the parts. There sure are a lot of similar questions posted here and elsewhere about the same thing. It seems like there are more people wanting to add starting than there were electric start motors produced in the first place.

Check with tcoutboard.com. They dismantle old outboards and may have the parts and harness you would need.

I'm actually picking up an old FD-12 - '58 18hp on Monday with electric start... But I hope to get it running, so sorry, no available parts!

If you PM me next week I can send you some photos of what it's supposed to look like.
