I have a 57 lonestar Malibu I am redoing. I am missing the windshield and brackets. I have done plenty of searching but came up empty handed. Has anybody started reproducing the windshields or the brackets? I don't even know what they are supposed to look like as every one I come across is missing the windshield or has a non original style windshield in place.. Any help would be appreciated.

Here's what she's supposed to look like. JBCurt has a place that can fabricate brackets I THINK. I'm sure he'll be along pretty soon, He's a "Tinner" and I'm NOT!!!

WOG, nothing posted.

Spudz, not sure you will find good used ones prior to either having someone build them, or build them yourself. many larger cities have plastics companies that can reproduce the curved windshield.

However you can always try ebay and craigslist.

Reproductions of vintage brackets can be had here:

Lake Shore Aluminum Castings
1817 Poplar Street
P.O. Box 59
Erie, PA. 16512- 0059
1-800-458-0463
Inquire about "Windshield Brackets"

If I remember correctly, they are $120+ship per set of 4 pieces: 2 end brackets & a 2pc center section. They are sand castings. Some leave them in a tad rough texture, others grind/hone/polish to a high shine.

IF you are dis-satisfied when the castings arrive, remember that they are individual castings of original vintage hardware that may or may not have been designed to fit your particular boat, so some fitment may be necessary. But if the castings are tweaked or uneven, I do believe they stand behind their products.

Sets pop up on evil-bay every now & then. But at $125, I'd buy the reproductions.

Here's a blog entry w/ pix:

It looks like those brackets are for making a split two piece windshield correct?? Kind of like the windshield that was put on this feather craft. If I cant find a correct curved windshield maybe this would be an option. Thanks guys.

yep ^^^

End brackets might work w/ typical windshield hold downs on a short curved windshield:

Taylor Made #1607

And eliminate the center section

I can see that pic. Thank you Woodonglass. Looks like the windshield was surrounded by a frame.... I guess even if I could find a broken one I could get a new windshield made as long as I can find a frame and brackets. Good luck right haha
