Hello boating friends. I have an opportunity to purchase a pretty well stripped 57 Lone Star Cruiser. Would anyone happen to know if there is any place where I can perhaps get a restoration/parts manual or anything to help in my project? Thank you in advance for your time and thoughts. Btw, curious what the price range one would pay for this project boat.

Hello and welcome to the forums. You've come to the best site for every thing boating.

As to your questions first it is unlikely you will find more than a brochure or spec sheet from Lonestar as there are few if any " Boat Restoration " manuals that are manufacturer specific.

A better idea is to look through some of the Lone Star restorations done here to get an idea on what may or may not need to be done.

You could also search the web for interior layouts and or color options for your cruiser.

As for a fair price that is wide open for debate. Most boats don't hold a value based on age liks classic cars or motorcycles do. So condition is more the determining factor as well as how complete the project is. Some boats are so far gone you should be paid to take them off the owners hands.

Lastly and this is a big one, be sure you get proper paperwork from the seller that You confirm will allow you to transfer ownership to you for proper registration. Some states like here in Tn are fairly easy while others like NY and Illinois are much tougher.

Post up the ad or some pics and more info on the boat younare looking at and I'm sure others will chime in with good advice.

:welcome: aboard Dawghouse,

Restoring one of these old tin boats is a chore and can be even tougher when it's already taken apart. Lots of where the heck does this go? There are some good examples here of restored LS cruisers, like a recent one here in the resto section Luke's "Texas Tornado".
