You are ahead of me! 1957 johnson 18 hp! My lower unit had a broken impeller hsng. stud. I had fun getting the flywheel off, I could read the .20 setting for the points and the TOP A. on the cam. The (A) is an arrow, so I believe that is set point. My condensor & points looked good so I cleaned and set them.I have till Fri. to get paid so I can buy coils. Stud should be out by then. I had to free the over rev limit arm It blocked throttle. i also readjusted the throttle ring? for more open throttle while I was in there to make clean the wire end for the new coils.I took apart the tiller and was happy to fix it with a washer and grease. Bet you know just what I am saying! Plug was j6cgot equivalent Bosch uncle says .030 see ya. Kevin
