What do I have to check, and do before starting an evinrude 35hp after sitting for about 22yrs?

check compression in the motor. then check ur spark. replace impeller. check gear oil and replace with washer. check prop for fishing line. replace or clean such coils points etc. clean and rebuild carb. check fuel pump or pressure tank for proper use. replace fuel lines if not done so lately.


then recheck all of the above for goood condtion and try to start her up.

Once you have read up; feel free to ask any questions we're here to be sure you make out ok.
When changing gear lube DON'T remove the smaller phillips head screw.
These are great old motors;a little thirsty but pretty much bullet proof.
