put it back in the garbage can and fill it to where the water is 1/2 way up the engine shaft the deeper the better. the pump has to be below water level to prime. if it doesn't pump maxrules.com and laingsoutboards.com have the water pump kits.

glad you joined. this is the university of outboards, you couldn't pay for the education you get here.

You certainly are right about the education available. There is no other place like this to go without spending big bucks just to get some simple answers.

Also, I dropped the boat in the water this morning after your comments and I'll be darn, you were absolutely correct. Once the motor was more submerged, the water flowed out of that discharge port and ran like a top.

Many thanks for the time and help. I am thrilled to be online and hope I can help someone some day as well.
