One dilemna fixed, now onward. I finally got this started. Adjusted the slow and fast needles as good as I could.
The motor will purr nicely for about 16 seconds, the throttle handle is on start and not touched...all of a sudden the motor will start screaming with high rpms, then shut down, then it hard to start again. I do have a carb kit coming. Thank you, Tom

sounds like it's running out of fuel in the bowl and as it does so it runs lean thus the increase in rpms before it quits

Is this a twin-line pressure tank or a single line with fuel pump?
In either case will "pumping up" the system keep the motor running?

That makes sense , I have pulled of the connector several times to the motor, there is usually a little gas that runs out. I do have to keep choing it though.

But the bowl remains full of gas though also.

you have to keep chokeing it for this 16 seconds of purring nicely?...I'd suggest you pull the carb and clean it to spotless ,then install that carb kit when it arrives, then set the needles as suggested by using Joe Reeves instructions in the Top Secret Files

And do you have the tank cap fully tightened?
It sounds more like a fuel feed issue than a carb problem.

Okay guys, thank you, I have cleaned the connectorest, made sure the double line was clean, guess now I have to wait for the carb kit to come. I took the sed. bowl back off, it had quite a layer of (sand, grit?), in the bottom of the bowl after having it cleaned previously.

I would say your tank needs to be cleaned out entirely too, if your sediment bowl is already loaded up with debris.
