Help for a 1957 18 horse fastwin 15020-16555seems like oil is slinging on the points. how do I get the flywheel off and should I worry about timing before I take the fly wheel off.Is there a oil seal I can replace if it is bad.Still tring to get a manual the motor is supper clean someone must have taking very goood care of it.Is it a good motor.thank you driftwood.

there is a special seal puller, and installer for your engine.. Check with a local dealer on this.

Use a 3-bolt puller to get the flywheel off. Use Grade 8 bolts in the puller or they'll break. Use a torque wrench to reinstall the flywheel, tighten nut to 40-45 ft/lbs. The seal is a real challenge to replace without the special tool. You might find a lot more trouble in there than you expect. Those old OMCs always have bad coils, unless somebody has already replaced them.
