1955 evinrude aquasonic fleetwin

Hello,
I have a 55 evinrude fleetwin aquasonic 7.5 hp outboard 7518-36726 - First off this little tank engine is great but i ran into a problem and need some help/direction. I was doing spring prep and found a plugwire that was crushed and cant find any parts - the coil end is very small and the motor turned fine. Here is the issue - i removed the fly wheel and wire and when i reassembled - the motor acts like its jammed - only turns 3/4 of the way - i remove the flywheel and it rotates fine. I can see nothing that is binding or any signs of wires ect getting caught - any ideas or where i could find a manual would be most appreciated - happy boating

Simple. You have to adjust the coil. The flywheel magnets are hitting it. See the ends of the laminated coil core? See the machined edges of the posts where the coil sits? The laminated core ends must be flush with those machined edges on the posts. Slide the coil in or out to achieve this, then tighten the screws.
