Well, it's time. I thought long and hard on this job.
My brother gave me this TN-28 motor that came with his cabin he bought. 1st observation shows no clutch control handle. The Shaft it connects to is there, but the linkage that connects to that at the bottom is not there as well as the clutch cable. I drained and dropped the lower end unit and after inspecting the water pump, I noticed that the only part of the clutch unit there was the clutch bracket. EM HAVING FUN YETThe good news is, the oil looked good  I am adding up the cost of this rebuild and I'm coming up with about $150.00 ishhh:embarassed: I've located a clutch cable and hardware for the lower unit and the linkage up top minus the handle. Game on boys...My question is how to feed the linkage from the lower end the linkage up top? I have read lots of post on this site and am very amazed of your expertise and knowledge. I ordered carb parts / tune up parts and lower end gaskets from *****************. I look forward to one day soon hearing and smelling this war bird in the tank. I would appreciate any and all help through this adventure.
