I have read many of the ideas posted here on aluminum restoration and I tried the following.
The hull has small corrosion spots on it so I applied Aluminum Navel Jelly and then washed it off at the car wash. Spots / corrosion did not clean up.
Talked to a local boat repair company who advised because of the age not to etch the hull. I am now sanding with 240 grit sand paper.
I plan to paint inside and out after sanding. ???Would you seal the seams and rivits before painting. How well does epoxy paint hold on to the products used for that purpose???
Thanks in advance for any advice or experience any of you have had with this type of application.
