Found salvaged components I need, from a similar Custom Craft boat some years ago, for my Custom Craft boat project. I will travel to his place in a couple of weeks and pick up the parts. This will be a huge help on getting the boat ready and safe for my grandchildren (and boat stupid adults) as well. I guess there were stripped down/basic versions of the boat without any railing and other features (my boat). These salvaged parts were off a boat with railings and other components that are not on my boat. Getting original Custom Craft parts for this build is going to make this happen for the coming summer. What an opportunity....
Pictures and a plan will be uploaded as soon as I get them.
Also, the former factory where these boats were built is just over an hour drive from my house. I plan to ask the former owner if I can come down and interview them and try to document some history and any other information I can glean from them and post it all up here as a resource for those wanting to know more about the "Georgia" Custom Craft boats. If you search the internet for these boats, mostly you get frustrated people who purchased a Custom Craft, and want to know more about them, but find very little to nothing about these Custom Craft boats. I am not sure what I can find out and if the former manufacture will cooperate, but hopefully they will.
I will keep you all posted on any progress.
