Just wondering if 750 hours is alot of hours on a 175 hp Verado motor.
This was a Lodge leased motor, alot of the hours were trolling, and it was used in tandem with another motor pushing a 25' inflatable.
Also the lodge had it's own mechanic, and was hopefully routinely maintained.

Any thoughts out there.

Re: 175 verado

At 5 hours a day that would amount to 150 days of use. Two summer seasons could put that many hours on it if it was really busy. Was it used mostly by guides or by customers. If it was leased out all the time the biggest drawback I could see would be possible lower end damage from running aground, hitting rocks, etc. Figure how many days a year that you would be using it if you just ran it on weekends. It takes the average recreational boater a long time to use up that much time. If it is in good shape that could amount to another 10 or 15 years before it begins to show signs of wear. The two biggest questions I would have would be how well it was maintained and was it used in salt water.
