This is what she looked like before I started tearing her down. 1983 sylvan 16 SS 90hp johnson.

I fished out of it for two seasons and now I hope to have her put back together by Memorial day

I have the lounge seat, live well, which was what the drivers seat sat on, the port console, and most of the front deck removed. Along with most of the fishing accessories.

I plan to put in new MG in the transom, new carpet, and build a custom front deck and rear. I really dont like the factory splash well.

The sliding doors are junk and with two 6 gal fuel tanks and the battery in is very crampt in there.

I want to go to a single console only. I think this will make her more fishable.

Making some progress lately. Removed side panels, drivers console, carpet, end caps, and sanding off decals on the sides. Body work is keeping me busy while I wait for epoxy and paint to arrive.

Re: 16' sylvan refit

Thanx to ezmobee for the input on epoxy. I went with the clarkcraft. I will post some pics tommorrow. I have my transom and floor boards fab'd and epoxied thanx to some spring temps arriving in wyo finally. I used a lvl for my tramson, planed it down to 1 15/32". Makes it a 3 piece configuration, but that is what the stock piece was. I would reccomend it if you have access to a planer as lvl beams are 1 3/4". Witha little luck I should be able to get her flipped and prepped for primer tommorrow. Gotta hurry the fish are calling.

Sounds good. Looking forward to the pics. I found the Clarkcraft epoxy to be nice to work with but I did go through a lot of it.
