16' Starcraft Starmist

I recently pulled a 16? Starcraft Starmist out of the woods where it sat for who knows how long. It belonged to my father and after passing away, I proceeded to clean up the property I inherited.

It?s in good shape, with the exception that the wood is rotten. The aluminum seems okay, but the paint is flaking off. The motor controls are missing. The windshield, amazingly, is pretty good.

Questions:

1. The serial number starts with 62- Does that mean it?s a 1962 model?
2. Where can I get a picture or owner?s manual for this boat?
3. Where do I buy parts (aftermarket I would guess)

I tried e-mailing Starcraft, but they didn?t respond.

I would like to restore the boat, but I need a step in the right direction for parts, etc.

You've come to the right place! There's more info here than you can believe, but when you get good at using the search option, you can find out just about anything. Also many real experienced experts around & several Starcraft experts. So if you can , post lots of photos and ask your questions.

As far as original parts, your best bets are ebay & boat yards, but you'll probably be hard pressed to find many specific to your boat. A lot of folks here make & adapt their own parts or have them fabricated.
