need a little help rebuilt my 98 150 yamaha put it back together an it keep running hot has new water pump

What other maintenance have you done and when?

Did you get the veins in the impeller bent in the right direction? Is the motor shooting a stream of water out the back?

Don't forget that there are also tiny thermostats on the head that sometimes need replacement.

also check the poppet valve, common idle ,low speed overheat, problem, it should be located on back of motor with large hose attached to it, held in with 2 bolts,
