recently had motor rebuilt. After completion took it out and it ran great. Then after it got up to temp (seems) it lost fire on starboard side. Let sit awhile and restared and it ran fine for another 5 min. Then lost fire on same sade again. Took it bak to mechanic. Checked spark and had no spart on all three cylinders of starboard side. He unpluged power pack from stator lead and said the spark was very weak. He just made a jumper wire and tried to get spark between them comming out of stator lead. He said stator was out. New one is 365.00. I took boat home checked spark the next day and had spark on all six again. Is this kind of behavior common from a stator/ I have had power pack do similar before. Took to lake and once again no spark this time on all six. Took flywheel off and had one wire off stator with bare wire touching metal. I also think that this problem was something he did when putting back together because spark was good before rebuild. What should i do. I have fixed the bare wire on stator. I have also checked ohms on stator and the coils arent open. Should be good. When they go out can they have spark at some time and not at others. This dosent seem likely to me. What do yall think? please help.
