150 ocean runner stalling

after running my Johnson 150 Ocean Runner around the lake at 3500 RPM or so and i throttle down to 1000 or so then bring her down further to 600 or so she will stall out . she will struggle to restart then will run fine at 600 or so into the marina She starts fine when i first get on te boat but has a little cough at low idle RPMs. any thoughts out there?

Interested in trouble shooting ?------Could be water in the fuel.-----Could be warped carburetor bowls.-----Weak spark.------Fuel restriction.-----Compression issues.

thanks for your response. the stalling happened 2 summers ago So last spring i had all the bowls replaced, a new power pack and sensor and fuel filters replaced . ran fine till the fall then the stalling started again same as the last year.
