150 fast strike, Rectifier/ Reg. wiring

My Tach and voltage droped off. I found the red wire had melted from the starter connection back to the Rectifier/Regulator. i looked up the Part number 0584093. 150 johnson 60 deg. The number has changed to 439561.

The Question is with the new number part there is no purple IGN wire?

That is correct, rectifier sort of moniters voltage and charges when needed. The older style used the purple wire to turn it on/off.
