I have an 1993 15 hp johnson. It starts and runs great at all speeds except idle. It kills when idling and then I have to choke it to get it going again even after it's warm. What could it be??

Would it still run as good as it does (full and slower speeds) if it were running on one plug?

Does it die only when in gear in the water, or anytime you go to idle speed?

It may be nothing more than an idle speed adjustment, really. Lots of folks expect their engines to idle too slowly, or set the idle speed in neutral. For best results, you have to set the idle speed with the engine in water and in Forward.

However, since you say you have to choke it to restart it, I suspect a dirty low speed jet.
