15 foot bayliner capri storage

ok so i lucked into this sweet boat its a 1989 bayliner capri barn find as some of you might remember from this post http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=251458
anyway its alittle short in the storage department . i am wondering if i can add some storage hatch lids under the front side seats has anyone ever cut or removed the top of one of these boats to add storage or make a repair ? i dont want to cut into it to find that i cant use it for a storage area .. i am just looking for a place to put my life vests and such . any help will help thanks , here is a pic of what it looks like

LOL i know i know BUT there is NO storage in this thing i only wanted to do under one of the front seats .. but i am very hesitant unless someone chimes in that has done it and knows whats under the front seating

Great post I have a 1990 capri and was wondering the same question,,,Lack of storage is a issue! Hope you get a good answer!

I have a 1985 Bayliner Capri and have storage under both front seats. On the right I keep my anchor line and on the left I keep flares, knife and extra fire extinguisher. Most of my other stuff (oil, spare line, bailer etc) are in the compartment under the left aft seat.

For the longest time i have used sealed containers for storage. I have a small one for the tools, a midsize for the misc (xtra aaa bats, connectors, etc...) and had a larger one where I kept the anchors ropes....
