I don't believe the g-flex is UV resistant. It is very hard though and will be painted over.

Leak tested the boat by filling with H2O. Didn't seem too bad however it will be sealed tight before completion. I can comment later on the g-flex, very easy to use. Prep of the seat skirts before paint. Had time to address the trailer with a few surprises. I found out the critters were fond of storing some winter treats. Actually, a whole lot of them. They also had their way with the wiring so I replaced it all and installed new LED lights. Also replaced the wheel bearings and caps while I was at it. Spruced it up with a little spray paint at the same time.

New bunks on trailer also. AND...1st pics of paint for the boat. Blasted, sanded, primed, inside & outside painted. Waiting for outside to dry so that a colored stripe can be added to the side. I didn't go solo on the paint, lucky to know someone very talented in that area. Thanks Dean!

Re: 14' Starcraft Super Star Restoration

As I'm waiting, another question for the group. I have the original engine that was purchased with the boat. It's an Evinrude 6hp Fisherman, ser# 6902M - E03224. I was wondering if that indicates a 1969, or if someone would know more. I cannot find a model# on it. Perhaps it would help answer how old the boat really is. I know they were bought new at the same time somewhere in or near Wausau WI. I do not have any manuals for the boat, OB, or trailer and would like to get my hands on them if possible.

Can't help with the Evinrude question, but if you haven't posted in the Johnson/Evinrude forums, post there. I'm betting someone there can give you a hand.

OK..Rookie mistake on my end. 6902M is the model number, and it is a 1969. I guess my mystery is solved.

The stripe is painted around and looks great. I couldn't be happier. I'll have some pictures out here soon. Still need to complete the seats and floatation.

Big thanks to you guys. I'm not done yet, but sure would have fumbled already without a little help!

I still think the paint turned out great. Here it is with the stripe added. There is a metalic fleck in the stripe paint and used the same paint for the skirts under the seats. NO MORE GREEN!

very nicely done.

is this a so called "semi-v" hull or a V hull? was planning to buy a boat like this but heard that it's not as stable as flat bottom boats. your pictures show the bottom is kinda flat... confused...

I believe its considered a semi V.Flat bottoms are more stable in calm water or slower speeds. The V gives you a little more abality to deal with a little rougher water and they usually have higher sides.

I hadn't been through this thread yet. What a cool little boat! You have done a great job on it too. You are the man repainting the Starcraft logos...I just ordered decals.

Seats completed and in. Just need to get the registration numbers on it now to get it in the water. It took me a little longer than I had planned but I'm not disappointed. It will be ready for years to come. I only have a few small details left to call it completely done.
