I have a 1974 Johnson 135 HP.
I have been looking for a picture of the power head to make sure that what my title said I have is what I have. I bought old boat and this was on it. I cannt find the I.D. plate for the motor, but the tittle says its a 135 HP Johnson. The motor cover looks like the old johnson motors picture that i've seen.

Does anybody have a Picture or tell me where I can find one?

Verify the numbers from the freeze plug.

model identification 2.jpgThe serial number and model number are stamped in two places on that engine: the id tag riveted to the transom bracket and the round casting plug on the top of the block. Both of them should be stamped identically. If they are different, something has been changed. Her is a pic of a typical casting plug for a 1975 135. Typically, they get painted over when at the factory, so you may have to scrape the paint off to see the numbers.

I found it! The plug is under the coil bracket on the left side of the motor I had to remove the bolts and lift plate and use a flashlite (in the middle of the day) to read the numbers.

Now I can order my book
