Hi. Don't know if anyone else has had this issue but here goes.
I have a 1985 120HP Looper.
It has strong spark on 3 cylinders but no spark on one.
If I swap one of the orange wires from another coil on to the dead cylinder I have strong spark so I know the coil is good.
I have done all the tests that the CDI trouble shooting info sheet suggests and also the trouble shooting tests in the Evinrude/Johnson manual.
The only thing I have found is that the orange wire connected to the dud cylinder reads a lower voltage when cranking than the other 3.
I have taken the flywheel, stator and timer base out and cleaned the all thoroughly.
There is slight pitting on two magnets on the flywheel and very slight pitting on the stator. I gave them a clean up with 1200 grit wet and dry sandpaper. I used WD40 as a lubricant.
Well that's it. Can't think of any thing else.
Cheers.
Oh, the plug and plug wire are good.
