Welcome to iboats.<br /><br />Yes it is a serious problem.<br />Rebuild it or junk it.<br />Damage to head, cylinder walls, ports, bearings, rings, etc will determine if it is an easy or extensive rebuild.<br /><br />What caused the hole? That will have to be addressed as well.<br /><br />A repair manual is mandatory. Either a factory manual, or both a Seloc AND a Clymer manual.<br />Posting pictures here so others can see and give you advice, would be helpful.<br /><br />Determine extent of damage.<br />Assemble a parts list.<br />Get prices for parts, manuals, and machine shop work if needed.<br />Decide if you want to put that amount of money into that motor, or part it out on ebay and look for a different motor.
