12 volt system

good day all. sorry to be a pain in the azz but can anyone tell me if my 1984 25hp evinrude has a 12 volt system on it or how i can tell if it does. i need a power source to run my fish finder, i really dont want to carry a small battery on board to run it.<br />thanks again Z

Well let me tell you about it z. As far as i know your motors altenator should be turning out somewheres around 12-13 volts. That is if it has an altenator, it would be there if it was an electric start motor. if its not then you will have to test the current coming from the coils.
