12 Ft Aluminum V Bottom , hole in keel, help!

hey all,

this is my first boat , a bit of a fixer upper but i got it for free from craigslist ! it is a Montgomery Ward Sea King, Year unknown, 12 ft aluminum V bottom, anyways, reason i'm posting today is i noticed a small hole in the bottom on the keel , near the back of the boat, been doing a bit of research about it and still not sure if its a drain hole, or something that needs to fixed, any advice or help would be much appreciated! thanks

That hole is supposed to be there. It drains the keel,so it don't freeze the water in there.

Yep ^^^ It's a weep hole.

If water collects inside the boat, or there's a leak near the keel, there may be other areas that are causing the leak, like a leaking seam, but it's not that weep hole.

ah ok, was worried that hole might fill the boat with water, was planning on dropping the boat in the lake this week and wanted to make sure i wouldnt be swimming back :D
