12/24 convert to 12volt

I have 12/24 volt trolling motor i would like to make in to a regular 12 volt! how would i go about the wiring?any help would be appreciated.can not afford a mechanic.

You need to tell us a little more as to what you have. What type motor is it. Where is the 12/24 switch now? Is everything working properly now?

Combination 12/24 volt motors usually have three wires (red, orange, and black (or white)) extending from the motor. Those motors also MUST have a switch either on the controller or on a panel at the bow of the boat. If you simply want to run the motor on 12 volts, set the switch to 12 volts. That's what it is for.
