What is the model number of the engine? This is needed for us to know exactly what engine you have... What year Evinrude 115hp? And what kind of information are you looking for?

The model/serial number plate is normally attached to the port (left) transom bracket (bkt that attaches eng to boat). Also, look for a aluminum core plug (looks like a small freeze out plug) on the powerhead which may also have the model number imprinted upon it.

you could tell them its probably a 1974 motor......:smash: to be honest, I don't think I have heard a question more unanswerable...first you are absolutely going to have to go out to the boat and get some info off the motor. a brand name, a sticker name, any tag, any #... even better take a few pictures....this will be a multi step process....but we would love to help you!! LOOK at this picture and see the colored circle, that's were to look for the model #

Okay.... Model # 115493-B is indeed a 1974 115hp Evinrude, long shaft (20").
It has two aluminum carburetors with all fixed jets (no jets to adjust).
It has a alternator which is standard equipment to charge the battery.
It has a shifting system which is called Hydra-Assist, meaning that it has a oil pump that supplies pressure to an assist cylinder to help in shifting. This type unit uses a gearlube called Premium Blend, also known as Type C.
It is a four cylinder engine... the firing order is simply 1,2,3,4.

What other information were you looking for?
