No tachometer at all.Do you have an accurate tachometer? What are your RPMs at WOT?
Why do you think I should get 17 pitch? My prop is really banged up so it is not performing anywhere near like it should.Looking at your boat on the video, you might be better off with a 17 inch prop. Also, some unasked for advice, your boat is sitting too far back on the trailer
Did it work the motor less at top speed to gain more top end? Or will it take away top speed? I was wanting to try and get 50mph.Because of 30+years of seeing crank rated 115s on various boats, a 17 was the one that 95 out of 100 times worked best for boats like yours
Replace your primer bulb if you haven't already. Replace all rubber fuel lines and check your metal fuel lines for kinks. When you rebuild the carbs, did you do a link and sync after? If not, do it.
From everything I am told, and knowing someone with an identical boat and motor with a couple different things in it and they are getting 52mph on gps, I think it's possible for me to get damn near close to 50. I can't stress enough how bad my prop is. Plus I feel I'm under revving, and the prop is slowing me down. And I can also get a hydrofoil to give me a little more. You want a 13 km/hr(8 mph) increase in speed? Well then, bolt on an engine with 40 more horsepower.
I checked the fuel lines, replaced the primer, and did not do a link and sync after, I thought if I rebuilt them I wouldn't have to. I'll look into that link and sync.
Dead wrong. Any time you remove a carb you need to do a link and sync. My boat wouldn't even get out of the water after I had the carbs off because I didn't do the link and sync.
