FAQ 17. I don't know what year outboard motor I have. Can you tell me how to find out?
Get the model # from the little plate on the motor's mounting bracket or; on earlier models stamped on the crankcase. Here is a link to the model year guide: "http://www.maxrules.com/ej_contents.html"
Yes. A looper does not have any bolt on covers. The crossflows have exhaust plates / covers, intake by-pass covers and water jacket covers all bolted on. (Lots of bolts) The loopers have no covers over the exhaust or intake areas nor a water jacket cover on the heads.
Not to mention the 90* looper is flat out a bigger powerhead.
Any thoughts on what the year is? Recap: V4 CF (bubble back with lots of bolts and jackets on heads); cover says 115 Johnson; VRO (with tag that says ethanol safe).
