100hp Evinrude Tilt/Trim

My 100hp Evinrude Tilt/Trim was operiting very slowly.Then quit in the up position. I removed the screw on the starboard side which blew fluid in my eye,(ouch). The motor came down but not all the way stopped at the large left and right plungers. How do I get the motor all the way down? How do I refill with fluid? And do I squeeze the fluid in the screw hole on the starbard side? When I push either the button on the motor or control the motor is whirring just a little. Almost stops.

What year?<br /><br />There is a screw that is the "release" and there is a large screw that is the fill hole.

My 89 Johnson 100 manual states that it will stop at the full bow up trim position which sounds like what you describe.
