Hi Guys,
I have a 75 CC Lancer 19. I've never had it on the water and I got it from a deceased estate, so got no info regarding the boat.
From various internet searches I'm pretty sure it has a 270 on it, and I read they are all interchangeable 270-280. I had seen that it may also be a 275 for the year of boat as well.. I did read some early 280 had a single pin helmet. At any rate the serial number is unreadable...
The boat has thru hull exhaust and a belt driven raw water pump on a 383 sbc. The original exhaust outlet thru the hull has been blocked off and has a fitting which the raw water intake hose was connected to. Not sure how well that would have worked but I'm wanting to use the original water intake through the leg. The fitting was not one of the transom style elbow fittings, it is a flat plate with a nipple on the inside of the hull for the raw water hose connection.
I do know I will need to replace the top bushing that is on the pivot tube which the water neck o-ring seals against as I can easily move the outdrive side to side and tell it's missing and or worn.
I want to basically service the outdrive and make sure everything is ok before going on the water. I am unsure if my bell housing is the type which has 2 PDS bearings, which would mean removing the engine to replace the forward one (from my research) or if it has the single PDS (fingers crossed). I will post some photos and hopefully someone will be able to tell me what I've got.
The U joints don't look too bad but once I pull the transmission I would replace them anyway.
Does anyone know what the deal with the prop is? Is that an aftermarket hub?
Thanks in advance.
