I have ranger with a 225 mercury efi lower unit went out. What gear ratio is best and what is the difference between the two. I was told mercury offers 1:62 and 1:75.
Just about all the standard engines(3.0) came with the 1:75 ratio, the 1:62 was on the Pro-Max series. Be careful as there are driveshaft differences between years, one and two piece driveshaft along with 8 and 13 spline count
