$500 for head job

Pistons will be fine with dings

$300 for timing kits (plural), gaskets, and incidentals

$30 for beer, $5 for band-aids and medical tape

1 weekend tear down
1 week turn around on heads
1 weekend reassembly
Probably need to up the beer budget . . . 🤪

I say upgrade to the coyote motor…..I know, I know it won’t directly fit and requires a host of other work. But if they put the new motor in older fox bodies….anything’s possible.

^^^ LOL ... actually we did early on think about possibly packing a V8 in.

But this is the kid's daily driver, so gas mileage came into our thinking. But the biggest reason why we went back to the 6 is that some already has a lead foot. No encouragement needed :)

Yeah a lead foot will definitely kill fuel mileage. I’ve got the 2014 with 5.0 and currently getting 21.4 mpg. Mines a daily driver, so no major mods. My daughter’s boyfriend has a 2012 that’s tuned with C/A intake, Roush exhaust, and supercharger. It gets around 8 mpg. I’d guess the V6 model is close to my fuel economy.

LOL ... fuel mileage won't be the primary issue. The county clerk would be be a first name basis paying the fines.

My FIL keeps antiques and fun-to-drive older cars. One that he had for a while was a an '04 GT Convertible with the Bullet package under the hood. Someone had modified the gear shift (not sure what was put in it), but that car was made for all-GO! And it did. Fun drive.

Depends on the condition of the car and what your plans are. Last year the transmission went out of my 2010 Yukon with 150K miles. Trade? Replace transmission? I paid for a new transmission because I had not intention of getting rid of my tow vehicle. Thoughts were to get a newer gas mileage commuter and keep the Yukon for towing only. Well, 1 year later and no commuter (prices still too high). The Yukon keeps going strong. Money well invested.
