I got the '08 Q7i and am also loving every minute of it. Over this past weekend, I had ten people and a dog aboard. When the afternoon winds picked up, the water got a little choppy and she handled as well as expected. Some water over the bow but nothing too serious where the bilge pump couldn't handle.
The boat is rated for nine people but since it was a fairly small lake, I figured I just stay close to shore and in the coves. But the boat handled so well that I took it out in the open.

Might be just a fluke or abuse but, I would ask the dealer for his opinion and assurances.
